ArmInfo.The "Big Four" telecom operators collectively contributed 9.7 billion AMD to the state budget, marking a robust 29.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Of this amount, 34.7 million drams were paid in  customs duties, 2.3 billion in direct taxes (including corporate income tax), and 4.3 billion in VAT,  according to data from the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia. 

ArmInfo.The Hrazdan Metallurgical Plant would be opned open within a month, as announced by Narek Karapetyan, a board member of the Strong Armenia party, at the opening of the political party's office in Hrazdan,  the administrative center of  the Kotayk region.

ArmInfo.In the first quarter of 2026, Armenia's banking system increased tax payments to the state treasury by 3.2% annually, reaching 28.6 billion drams ($75.9 million). Notably, 84.8% of this total—approximately 24.3  billion AMD—was derived from direct taxes, marking a 2.1% increase from the previous year. 

ArmInfo. In Armenia, economic activity growth accelerated to 7.1% annually in January-March 2026 (up from 4.1% in the same period of 2025), driven  by the construction and industrial sectors. ArmInfo.  From April 20 to 23, 2026,  Armenia's interbank foreign exchange market  saw a continued rise in dollar transactions, while ruble transactions  continued to decline. Euro transactions haven't been conducted for  two consecutive months. Specifically, the growth of dollar  transactions slowed from a 5.1 fold increase to 54%, while the  decline in ruble transactions slowed from 19% to 8%.

ArmInfo.The AIFC Green Finance Center (Astana International Financial Centre) is considering expanding its operations  into the Armenian market, as stated by Manas Gijduaniev, CEO of the AIFC, during a briefing on April 23, in response to a question from an ArmInfo correspondent.

ArmInfo. Armenia plans to build a large-scale AI data center (AI factory) called Firebird, with the participation of NVIDIA, focused on artificial intelligence technologies. With an investment of $500 million, the factory will be  located in the city of Hrazdan, becoming one of the largest technological infrastructure sites in the region. 

ArmInfo.On April 18, at the initiative of IDBank and Idram, another financial literacy course was held within the framework of cooperation with the ''Learning Mission'' non-profit organization. About 50 beneficiaries participated in the course, who acquired to the financial sector, developed their digital and financial literacy skills.

ArmInfo. Armenia's top 5 largest taxpayers paid 76.3 billion drams, or $202 million, to the state budget in the first quarter of 2026, marking a 23% year-on-year increase. Of this amount, 1.98 billion drams (a 5-fold increase) were  paid in customs duties, 12.6 billion in direct taxes (an almost 11-fold increase), and 48.8 billion in indirect taxes (a 31-fold increase), according to the RA State Revenue Committee's list of 1,000 large taxpayers.

ArmInfo.  At its session on April 23, the Government of Armenia approved a proposal to  establish general principles of liability for non-compliance with  EAEU requirements in customs regulation.
