ArmInfo. The high technology sector in Armenia will receive state support. The National  Assembly discussed amendments to the law "On state support to the  high technology sector" and to the Tax Code of the Republic of  Armenia during the plenary session on November 14 in the first  reading.

ArmInfo. The first Tumo center in South America is expected to open in the Argentine capital of  Buenos Aires in 2025. This was announced by the Minister of  Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MESC) of Armenia Zhanna  Andreasyan at a meeting with the Minister of Education of Buenos  Aires Maria de las Mercedes Miguel.

This was the topic of a conversation  held the day before in Tehran between Deputy Minister of Economy of  the Republic of Armenia Narek Hovakimyan and Deputy Minister of  Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, Head of Trade Promotion  Organization, Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi.

ArmInfo. Acba bank and American Express have announced an expansion of their long-standing agreement which grants Acba the license to issue American Express Cards and acquire American Express-accepting merchants. Acba bank has been American Express’ exclusive licensee in Armenia since 2009.

The Armenian economy continues to experience high growth and successfully  withstand international challenges, as stated by Gevorg Papoyan, the Minister of Economy of Armenia, during his speech at the Parliament on November 13.  In this regard, he referred to the indicators  recorded in the first half of 2024, showing a 6.5% growth in Armenia's GDP. The Minister attributed this growth to an increase in added value in several sectors of the economy.

ArmInfo.  The meeting between the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry and the managing director of Westinghouse Electric Sweden in Stockholm on November 11, once again demonstrated Yerevan's commitment to transition the Armenian "peaceful atom" to Western rails, a move that poses risks to the country's energy security.

ArmInfo. According to the new forecast from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), inflation in  Armenia is projected to be 1% in 2024 compared to the deflationary rate of 0.6%, and then increase to 3.9% in 2025, coming closer to the target of 4%.

On the same day, it was reported that Evocabank became the first bank to join the Open QR system.
