Armenia`s economic growth rate for January-October 2024 decreased to  8.1%

ArmInfo.In Armenia, economic activity growth in January- October 2024 slowed to 8.1% per annum  (from 9.2% in the same period of 2023). Unlike last year, the  industrial sector has become one of the growth drivers. According to  preliminary data from the RA Statistical Committee, this is  accompanied by continued high growth rates of exports and imports.   Although the preliminary statistical report does not provide more  detailed information, judging by the final data of the previous 9  months, the high growth of industrial production no longer comes from  the jewelry industry, which previously demonstrated growth several  times over. It is now experiencing a double-digit 26.8% decline.

Armenia`s CB see no risks for pension funds in case of direct  investments

ArmInfo. "Doesn't the investment risk for pension assets of beneficiaries of Armenian  pension funds increase with the expansion of the opportunity to  directly invest in private business (Private Equity)?" Artur  Khachatryan, a member of the opposition Hayastan faction, asked Armen  Nurbekyan, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, at a  meeting of the National Assembly's relevant committee on November 25  during the discussion of the relevant draft law.

EFSD to become fully independent organization

ArmInfo. The Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) will be transformed into a fully independent international organization with the possibility of  financing projects and programs in the national currencies of the  EFSD member states. At a meeting on November 25, the Committee of the  National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Financial, Credit and  Budgetary Issues issued a positive conclusion on the draft protocol  on amendments to the regulation on the establishment of the Fund,  submitted by the RA government for ratification.

RUB transactions resumed in Armenia`s interbank foreign exchange  market Nov 18-22

ArmInfo. November 18 to 22, 2024, in Armenia's interbank foreign exchange market, USD and RUB transactions were effected all the days except for Friday, with no  EUR transactions effected for the third week running. USD  transactions showed a 51% decline against a 3- fold growth the  previous week. The total amount of USD transactions insignificantly  exceeded the total amount of RUB transactions.
