ArmInfo. The Yerevan Municipality intends to purchase 45 new trolleybuses. At its meeting on May 7, the RA government decided to exempt Yerevan Electric Transport CJSC from customs duties on imported vehicles.

Zeyro, the first Armenian  artificial intelligence created to set new standards and reimagine  the logic of modern mobility and digital services, will be unveiled  at a gala ceremony. ArmInfo. After two years of inactivity, agricultural insurance in Armenia has finally picked up since 2026. According to the National Agricultural Insurers Agency (AINA), 3,626 contracts were concluded in the first quarter of 2026, with total insurance premiums amounting to 705.5 million drams ($1.9  million), of which 55% (387.7 million drams) was the share of insurance companies, and 45% (317.9 million drams) was subsidized. 

ArmInfo. Evocabank and Proparco-AFD have signed a €20 million credit agreement aimed at supporting women's entrepreneurship and the development of renewable energy in Armenia.

ArmInfo. Ameriabank and Proparco, a subsidiary of the Agence Française de Développement Group (AFD Group) signed a €75 million credit agreement. Signed during French President Emmanuel Macron’s State Visit to Armenia, the agreement aims to support Armenian agriculture and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

ArmInfo.  Armenian insurance companies, having improved premium dynamics, were able to maintain high profit growth rates. In Q1 2026, the annual premium dynamics,  which declined from a 7% decline to a 3% increase, enabled net profit  growth to reach 77.4% (compared to 82.3% growth a year ago).

ArmInfo.  Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov and his Armenian counterpart Mnatsakan Safaryan, at a meeting in Yerevan, advocated for  intensifying bilateral economic cooperation.

ArmInfo.  The process of community consolidation will continue in Armenia. At its plenary session on May 6, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia will discuss  amendments to the law "On Administrative-Territorial Division,"  submitted by the RA government for the first reading.

ArmInfo.  France intends to more actively participate in investment programs in Armenia and promote the diversification of the Armenian economy. At the plenary session  of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on May 6, the  protocol amending the agreement between the Armenian government and  the French government, submitted for ratification.

ArmInfo. In the near future, a significant increase in energy prices, as well as disruptions in supply chains and possible changes in trade routes, could contribute to accelerating inflation in the country, as noted in the rationale for the Central Bank of Armenia's decision on May 5 to maintain the  refinancing rate at 6.5%.

ArmInfo.Armenia is open to Emirati investments in logistics, infrastructure, renewable energy, tourism, high technology, agriculture, industry, and other areas, as stated by Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan during a meeting with Omran Sharaf, Deputy Foreign Minister of the United Arab  Emirates (UAE) for Advanced Science and Technology, and Nariman Al- Mulla, UAE Ambassador to Armenia.

ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia expects stable domestic demand to remain high, driven by several factors: an increase in average income, a rise in savings up to a maximum of 23% of GDP, and an increase in consumer loans (partly related to mortgages). Inflation in the services sector is also being taken into account. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Hovhannes Khachatryan at a press  conference on May 5.
