ArmInfo.On May 14, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Babken Tunyan, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, met with the Board of Directors and the executive team of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Armenia. The meeting, held at the Government House, focused on the draft law of the Republic of Armenia "On Investments," which recently passed its first reading in the National Assembly.

ArmInfo.  Armenia has recorded a positive migration balance of 2,500 people in Q1 2026.  According to data provided by the Statistical Committee of the  Republic of Armenia, this figure represents a 48% decrease compared  to the same period last year.  According to the source, 974,200  citizens entered Armenia from abroad during the reporting period, a  2.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile,  966,400 citizens left the country, reflecting a year-on-year growth  of 0.8%.

ArmInfo.  Armenia will increase the maximum purchase limit for breeding animals purchased by beneficiaries under the state subsidy program. At a meeting on May  14, the RA government amended the program, which covers 2024-2028.

ArmInfo.  In the first quarter of 2026, 7,272 children were born in Armenia, a 0.2% increase compared to the same period last year. The birth rate per 1,000 inhabitants  for the reporting period was 9.5 per thousand, compared to 9.6 per  thousand a year earlier.

ArmInfo.The issue of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplies from Iran to Armenia has been resolved, and Iranian gas is expected to re-enter the Armenian market in the coming days. Armenia's Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, made this statement to journalists on May 13 in Aparan during a  campaign event for the ruling "Civil Contract" party.  

ArmInfo. In Armenia, the service sector's annual growth slowed from 11.5% to 7.4%, generating revenue of AMD 981.7  ($2.6 billion) in Q1 2026. According to the RA Statistics Committee, in March alone, service sector revenue increased by 12.6% to 351.4 billion drams ($931.2 million).

ArmInfo.The revenue of Armenia's trade sector in Q1 2026 saw a year-on-year growth slowdown, dropping from 6% to 2.1% and totaling AMD 1.44 trillion ($3.8 billion). According to data from the Statistical Committee of the RA, trade turnover in March alone rose by 14.1%, reaching AMD 550.5  billion ($1.4 billion).

ArmInfo.In Q1 2026, the volume of freight transport in Armenia decreased by 1.6% compared to the same period in 2025 (against 0.7% growth a year earlier),  totaling 3,408.5 thousand tons. According to data from the Statistical Committee of the RA, this downward trend was driven by a 10.7% decline in dominant road freight volumes, which fell to 2,185.9 thousand tons.

ArmInfo. In Q1 2026,  revenue growth in Armenia's communications sector slowed to 4% year-on-year, down from 6% in the same period last year, totaling AMD 42.2 billion,  according to data from the Statistical Committee of  the Republic of Armenia.
